OverviewABOUT THE POSITION:The role of Tax Accountant is to ensure compliance with its various tax obligations and to assist in developing a comprehensive tax strategy.ABOUT THE COMPANY:We are a general line service center with special emphasis in the construction markets. Some of our benefits include:Medical, dental, and vision insurance; dependents and domestic partners eligible401(k) up to 4% matchingTuition reimbursementBonus and profit-sharing eligibilityPaid maternity and paternity leaveCompany paid life insuranceVoluntary life insurancePaid time offPaid holidaysWork Location: 6000 Jensen Drive Houston, TX 77026---Note: This is a 100% onsite positionResponsibilitiesPrepare the Yearly, Quarterly, and monthly filings for Sales and Use tax returns.Prepare the Yearly, Quarterly and Monthly filings of tangible and intangible property return.Assist in reviewing tax exempt certificates, tax audits, tax noticesWork with outsource tax partner ensure all deadlines including annual reporting are met.Prepared property tax filingsReconciling income tax accounts and ensure the correct booking of tax payments, provisions, credits, etc. on the balance sheet and P&LPerform all other duties as assignedWork on special projectsQualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance CPA preferred but not required3+ years of related experienceKnowledge/Skills/Competencies: In-depth knowledge of state and local reporting and tax requirements in a holding company environment.Excellent tax accounting and analytical skills.Highly Functional in Office (Advanced Excel Skills a must). Exposure to tax software such as AvalaraStrong organizational skills Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments under pressure and tight deadlines.
